Starting this week, all new Quadrant Home communities will provide smart home technology, connectivity, and compatibility as standard new home features with the launch of their Home Technology Package.
Quadrant Homes, a TRI Pointe Group member active in the Seattle area and surrounding counties in the Puget Sound region, has based this enhancement decision on an increase in consumer demand for connected homes. This is especially true for Seattle’s high-tech employment scene, as many Quadrant communities are located near the Microsoft and Google campuses.

“Seattle is an innovative city, and every day in this market we see buyers who want the convenience of a connected home,” says Ken Krivanec, president of Quadrant Homes. “We decided to make that convenience standard in every new community, so from their first day in the home, buyers can connect with the most popular home automation features.”
The Quadrant Home technology package includes a variety of security, comfort, and connectivity features that combine the expertise of multiple companies. The Ring video doorbell allows home owners to see and speak with anyone at their front door via smartphone app from anywhere in the world. The same goes for the Schlage front door locks, which include built-in alarm sensors and smart lock/unlock control, and a Liftmaster garage door, which feature app-controlled monitoring, opening, and closing.

Caseta Wireless provides smart thermostats and lighting, including the Nest 3 Thermostat. The Nest can learn preferred temperature patterns and eventually program itself, while the lighting controls can be customized into schedules and scenes. All homes are pre-wired for wi-fi routers, with internet access points on each level. CAT 6 wiring is also available for Smart TV connectivity. All features are controlled via smartphone app, and connectivity is available for Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and Apple HomeKit.
“This package is great for buyers of all technical knowledge levels,” says Krivanec. “Many of these solutions are plug and play, and those buyers who want even more home tech can expand the system themselves, or work with our third-party providers to automate and connect their home to their heart’s content.”
All future Quadrant communities will include the package as standard, and new home buyers in Quadrant’s current communities can request the package in presale homes. All buyers have the option to purchase additional components for their home automation package, including Sonos audio systems, Lutron automated window shades, and live fireplaces.
