This course provides a concentrated/comprehensive focus on three components of CMI’s Certified Custodial Technician program: the chemistry of cleaning, safely and effectively cleaning above floor surfaces (walls, ceilings, lights, windows,) and restroom care. Topics include teaching established current standards, daily maintenance to long term care cleaning methods, and preventative measures that protect and extend the life of surfaces cleaned.
Learn the importance of what, when, and how to use chemicals safely, keeping surfaces and facilities clean, safe, and healthy for staff and customers.
This course discusses the science behind the chemistry of clean and industry best practices. This CMI course is compliant with the ISSA Training Standard.
Learning Objectives:
- Gain familiarity and understanding of safety protocols and procedures to effectively use chemicals for cleaning
- Gain familiarity and understanding of Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Global Harmonized System (GHS), and how to mitigate risks associated with biohazards, blood, and bodily fluids
- Learn the necessary equipment for daily and restorative maintenance of above surface cleaning and restroom care
- Review materials for daily and restorative maintenance of above surface cleaning and restroom care
- Know the necessary supplies for daily and restorative maintenance of techniques for above surface cleaning and restroom care
- Gain familiarity and understanding of various machines and procedures for daily, interim cleaning along with above surface cleaning and restroom care.
